Toy Library Gift Vouchers

A recent article in Family & Children Go Green states that
"The average UK Child is getting 262.00 in toys each
Christmas - most destined for landfill along with their
excessive packaging with huge plastic windows and polystyrene

In response to this Derbyshire Toy Library Network (DTLN)
has commissioned Toy Library Gift Vouchers. These can be
purchased direct from the Network or through member toy
libraries available in multiples of 5.00 or 10.00

The Vouchers can be exchanged for memberships and/or toy
loans paid up front which will last for considerably
longer than the usual purchase of one toy!

The vouchers can also be used by Schools & Voluntary Groups
to top up their Inclusive Membership / Toy hire packages

Give the network a call 0845 310 2738 or e-mail

Computer labour
A new computer program has been designed to help
minimise human error in the management of women in
labour. The program analyses the foetal heart rate and
compares this to other information it collects about
the labour, such as cervical dilation and the presence
of amniotic fluid. The system then provides the
   midwife with recommendations about care.

Test 'predicts preterm baby risk'
Researchers have identified a test which can predict
whether a woman is likely to give birth if her waters
break early in pregnancy. UK experts said the test would
help to plan care and reassure women whose membranes
   rupture prematurely.
